Selling Your Baby is intended to help healthcare entrepreneurs maximize the value of their organization as they plan and execute an exit strategy. The advice within is based on my experience as well as those of my clients, associates and former competitors—from national psychiatric facilities to independent pharmacists. On balance, they are compassionate leaders who know they must manage their bottom line in order to continue their mission. Having nurtured their companies for years they have developed a strong bond to their creations. For this reason, we see their companies as more than just “businesses.” We prefer to call them “babies.”
